King of Kings Basketball League Rules
Games must start no later than fifteen (15) minutes after listed start time. A team may start a game with less than five players or choose to forfeit.
Players must play in 50% of the regular season games in order to be eligible for the playoffs.
Each team must designate a captain prior to each game. Only captains may speak to the referees.
Each game will consist of two 20 minute running halves.
Time stops only in the last two minutes of each half and during timeouts.
All players must wear team t-shirts.
Five fouls per player, seven team fouls for a one-and-one situation, 10 team fouls to shoot two shots for each foul taking place in that half thereafter.
Two technical fouls on one player will result in an ejection from the game by rule. That player will then be suspended for the next game. An ejection from two games in the season will result in a further suspension decided on by the board.
All overtime contests will be a running time of five minutes, with the clock stopping in the last minute only.
Player technical fouls count as personal fouls and team fouls. Fouls do not reset in overtime.
Coach technical fouls count as a team foul.
If there are five players or less left on a team and someone fouls out, they must play with the remaining players available.
Technical foul penalties will result in two shots and loss of possession.
Substitutes must wait to be waved in by the referees.
On foul shots, all players except the shooter may leave their place on the release.
Calls made and agreed upon by the referees will not be changed.
Every team must have a coach that is a non-player in the league. This will maintain order and structure.
In the event of a clear-path foul, the player fouled will receive two foul shots and receive possession of the ball.
Any attempted or landed punches will result in immediate ejection from the game and suspension from the league. (NO discussions.)
Any vulgar language from a player or coach will result in a technical foul and a team foul. Possession is maintained.
Flagrant fouls result in two shots and possession of the ball. The player who commits the foul will receive a technical foul and a team foul.
During an altercation, players may not leave the bench. Those players who do leave the bench will be ejected.
Each team will receive two full and one 30 second time out per half. In the first overtime, each team will receive one full time out.
Extreme and demonstrative disorderly unsportsmanlike conduct will result in suspension decided on by the board.
Forfeiting that contest will penalize any team that participates in any betting of any kind associated with King of Kings games. If this becomes a problem, that team will be removed from the league.
